We are proud to share that Kerem Cengiz, Managing Director – MENA at LWK + PARTNERS, recently took part in a historic milestone for architectural heritage—the relocation of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) Collections.
Kerem was invited to view the new archive facility as part of his role as a Committee Member of the RIBA Cultural Knowledge & Outreach Committee, which supports the President of RIBA in advancing the Institute’s cultural and educational mission. The Committee plays a key role in shaping RIBA’s outreach and cultural programming, drawing on expertise from architecture, the arts, digital innovation, and public engagement.
This move is a cornerstone initiative under House of Architecture, RIBA’s ambitious investment programme designed to make architecture more accessible for everyone. House of Architecture aims to transform the Institute’s digital technology, collections access, and London headquarters. It reinforces RIBA’s identity as an outward-looking cultural institution that promotes deeper understanding and appreciation of architecture among diverse audiences.
The relocation of the RIBA Collections to V&A East is a landmark collaboration . It secures the long-term preservation of one of the world’s most significant architectural archives, while increasing public accessibility through curated exhibitions, events, education programmes, and digital innovation.
Kerem’s involvement reflects our practice’s commitment to shaping cultural dialogue and advancing architectural literacy. At LWK + PARTNERS, we believe in the power of archives and collective memory to influence contemporary design and empower future generations.
